we want to make life easier for you
So, we’ll always try to explain things in a clear and simple way. Being governed by law means we must follow a certain process for Motor Vehicle Accident compensation claims. Here’s what happens in five easy steps…
Make your claim
Submit a Claim Form (Notice of Accident Claim Form) with the Insurance Company. The form must contain an accident diagram, Police Accident Report Reference Number, and Medical Certificate. Claimaroo will draft your Claim Form and arrange for your signature and return. There’s a time limit to lodge your claim, but your dedicated case handler will discuss it all with you.
Check it’s legal
The Insurance Company will advise whether you have complied with your legal obligations regarding your Claim Form and its content. We will help you as much as we can to achieve Compliance and address any non-compliance issues.
Decide who’s at fault
The Insurance Company has six months from Compliance to investigate the accident and tell us whether they admit, partially admit, or deny liability (whether it’s their fault or not). We will try and get an early response so your claim can progress as efficiently and quickly as possible.
Negotiate the best deal
This is where the negotiations to try and resolve your claim will start. This could be at the beginning after submitting the Claim Form, or once your injuries have stabilised so we can better evaluate your claim. We will prepare a Claim Valuation and wait for your thoughts and decision regarding the settlement. But rest assured, there’s always your dedicated Claimaroo case handler on hand to
guide you every step of the way.
The last step is settlement, which is when your claim is resolved. Once your claim does settle, we need to follow certain steps as set out in law before you receive your money. This includes formally agreeing to settlement terms, advising the relevant departments and organisations, calculating settlement distribution, and receiving and distributing funds. We will always keep you up to date on the status and when you can expect to get paid.
